Lady Gaga talks about her past drug abuse

The 24-year-old singer has previously admitted to taking cocaine and says she still worries about the extent of her narcotic use when she was trying to launch her music career.
She told Neil Strauss in his new book Everyone Loves You When You Are Dead: “Sometimes it freaks me out – or I should say it petrifies me – when I think about laying in my apartment in New York with bed bugs and roaches on the floor and mirrors with cocaine everywhere, and no will or interest in doing anything but making music and getting high.
“I’ve had such obstacles with drugs and rejection and people not believing in me. It’s been a very long and continuous road that I love, but it’s hard to just chalk it up to myself. I have to believe there’s something greater than myself.”
The author also revealed the “Born this Way” hitmaker confided in him that she had previously suffered a “traumatic experience” but wouldn’t give details as she doesn’t want her fans to be upset.
He told RadarOnline.com: “I asked her if she’d been through a traumatic experience when she was younger and she said yes, that it was when she was in New York and it was so terrible that she’d blocked it out.
“She said it was so horrible that she didn’t want it in her younger fans’ heads. I think she felt that if she opened up about herself, then it would define her and that’s all anyone would ask about.”
However, Gaga did hint at her problems, but insisted she had brought them all on herself.
She said: “I didn’t have a bad childhood. All of the things I went through were on my own quest for an artistic journey to f**k myself up like Warhol and Bowie and Mick, and just go for it.
“All of the trauma I caused to myself. Or it was caused by people that I met when being outrageous and irresponsible.”

Lady Gaga cancels Target deal over gay rights issues

Lady Gaga has cancelled a major marketing deal with US retailer Target, allegedly due to the company’s weak support for gay rights. Target, which had been expected to release an exclusive version of Gaga’s forthcoming album, has been criticised for donations to political groups seen as anti-gay.
“Lady Gaga and Target came to a mutual decision to end their overall exclusive partnership a few weeks ago,” a spokesperson for the singer said. But according to the Advocate and Metro Weekly, the decision was not rooted in an financial dispute. The deal was “in a sensitive stage of continued discussion for probably the last three weeks”, according to publicist Bob Witeck, who claims to have had knowledge of the proceedings. “Throughout this whole process, [Gaga] has remained true to her audience. I think she’s a person of great integrity, and I think people will recognise that.”
Many Gaga fans questioned the Target deal, announced last month, given the retailer’s record of supporting controversial rightwing candidates. Target is notorious for a $150,000 (£92,587) corporate donation to MN Forward, a lobby group that supported Tom Emmer in his 2010 bid for Minnesota governor. Emmer, who lost the election, was vocal in his opposition to gay marriage.
“Part of my deal with Target is that they have to start affiliating themselves with LGTB charity groups,” Lady Gaga told Billboard at the time of the announcement. “Our relationship is hinged upon their reform in the company to support the gay community and to redeem the mistakes they’ve made supporting those groups.”
But though Target has made contributions to organisations such as Project 515, which advocates same-sex marriage, a spokesperson couldn’t guarantee that the retailer would not continue to support candidates with anti-gay voting records.
Lady Gaga’s third album, Born This Way, is due on 23 May. Elton John has described its titular lead single as “the new gay anthem”.

Lady Gaga's Mugler Runway Hairstyle Inspired by Sailor Moon

On Wednesday, Lady Gaga made her Paris Fashion Week runway debut for the new incarnation of the Thierry Mugler brand, Mugler. Gaga was there to support her longtime stylist Nicola Formichetti, who is the revived brand’s chief designer.
Somehow, Gaga managed to make it down the runway despite her terrifyingly tall platform heels, smoking and shimmying to the tune of her new track, “Goverment Hooker.” Impressive!
Also impressive: Gaga’s thigh-length blond ponytails. Dare we say they look like they were anime-inspired? Were it not for the sex shop finery, she’d look like she was rocking a Sailor Moon costume.

Lady Gaga steals the runway during the Thierry Mugler Show
Nicola Formichetti brought the Thierry Mugler women’s collection roaring back to the runway Wednesday night, with Lady Gaga in long blond ponytails and giant platforms modeling for her stylist/collaborator, and the show streaming live on Facebook.
Lady Gaga took to the modeling gig like she’d been doing it all her life, stepping onto the runway from the front of the house, puffing on a cigarette and grinding on a column, as her new single, “Government Hooker,” played on the soundtrack.
The Gothic arches on the problematic set didn’t make it easy to see. But this was a show for Generation Facebook. And all those little monsters watching at home had the real front row seats. Now, we’ll see if they remember the clothes.

Lady Gaga to debut new song during the Thierry Mugler show during the annual Paris Fashion Week

She’s done it before and she’s doing it again – Lady Gaga is set to debut another brand new song during the Thierry Mugler fashion show during the annual Paris Fashion Week.
Coming up later today lady gaga will serve as the musical director for Mugler’s runway show.
The fashion show will be streamed live at 3pm ET and, word has it, the tune Gaga will be premiering is “Judas” – which is the second single off her “Born This Way” album.
Of the new track, co-producer Fernando Garibay told MTV News, ” ‘Judas’ is produced by RedOne and Gaga, obviously, and it’s a statement about, again I can’t speak for her, but what I gather is it’s about sometimes not choosing the right choice,” he said. “But you can’t deny that the choice is not a part of you and who you are.”

Lady Gaga: Born This Way Music Video!!!

Every time Lady Gaga releases a video, it seems like everyone writes about how it’s her most bizarre work yet. So it feels redundant to write this, but “Born This Way” is very, very weird.
It’s not weird in a campy, infinitely imitatable way like “Telephone.” It’s more like “Alejandro” weird but kicked up to brand new heights of surrealism that help fill in the mythology Gaga has been creating around her upcoming album, also called Born This Way. It helps explain why Gaga has been wearing those Star Trek-like ridges on her face (because she’s the mother of a hereto unknown alien race) and why she showed up to the Grammys in an egg (because she’s being Born — get it?).
The first couple minutes of the video are a trippy birthing montage with voice over courtesy of “The Manifesto of Mother Monster” that explains how she gave birth to some pure awesome aliens and also evil, and if you really want to know more than that just watch the video. For anyone who would like to skip straight to the music and avoid any uncomfortable/ kinda gross artistically conceived birthing imagery, click up to the 2:20 mark in the video and enjoy.
While the video isn’t exactly NSFW, it’s also not the kind of thing you really want to be caught looking at while at work. So viewer be warned.
Lady Gaga’s Whiskey Diet

Lady Gaga has a special way of keeping in shape: whiskey! She’s a big fan of the alcoholic beverage because she thinks it helps her creativity but still maintains her toned figure, because she hits the gym even if she’s suffering from the after-effects of too much alcohol.
She told Sirius XM radio: “I am on the drunk diet. I live my life as I want to, creatively. I like to drink whiskey and stuff while I am working. But the deal is I’ve got to work out every day, and I work out hung over if I am hung over. And it’s about the cross-training and keeping yourself inspired. I have to say, I do a ton of yoga.”
Gaga has previously caused controversy with her extreme dieting methods.
The 24-year-old singer’s former tour manager, David Ciemny, claimed last year she would binge on junk food such as cakes and sweets, then not eat for weeks to fit into her costumes — once losing 20 pounds between fittings for one of her outfits.
Describing her condition, David said: “When I say she was sick, I mean physically and mentally.”
Talent scout Wendy Starland added: “The pressure on her to lose weight was very high.”

Lady Gaga – Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City

Getting back to the stage as she resumes her Monster Ball tour, Lady Gaga performed at Boardwalk Hall Arena in Atlantic City, New Jersey on Saturday night (February 19).
Clearly happy about being back in front of her adoring fans, the 24-year-old singer gushed to the sold-out audience, “I’ve missed you all so much!”
Churning out another energetic, hit-laden lineup of songs, Gaga’s set list included tunes such as “Alejandro,” “Poker Face,” “Paparazzi,” “Telephone” and “Just Dance.”
Meanwhile, Gaga returned to the stage for her encore while delving into “Bad Romance” before teasingly telling the crowd, “You better not leave when this song is done. There may be a surprise.”
Much to the delight of the frenzied fans, the award-winning artist reemerged a few minutes later to treat concertgoers to a rendition of her new number one single, “Born This Way”.
Now enjoying a day off, Lady Gaga will resume tour efforts with shows at Madison Square Garden in NYC on Monday and Tuesday – which will be taped for an HBO concert special.

Lady Gaga talks about Growing Up & Sex Education

Lady Gaga was taught about sex with a wooden penis after being lectured on the virtues of abstinence by her school nurse.
Lady Gaga was taught about sex with a wooden penis.
The ‘Born This Way’ hitmaker – who attended a strict Catholic girls’ school in her teens – admitted she barely had any contact with boys until she was 15 because she was always being lectured about the virtues of abstinence by her school nurse.
She explained: “I went to a Catholic school where the doors were sort of shut and the blinds were pulled down when the nurse came in to talk to us about safe sex and celibacy – it was more of an abstinence conversation than it was about safe sex.
“It really was my biology teacher who taught us about safe sex. The wooden penises would come out and she would take out a condom and we would all sort of sit there. We barely even had contact with boys until I was 15 years old.”
However, the 24-year-old singer explained her “really, really cultured” mother taught her to be more open about sex.
Gaga added to WWD: “My mom was always very open with me. My mother was a dancer for 20 years, so she had a lot of gay friends and straight friends and friends of all different races.
“She’s a really, really cultured woman, my mother. And she just taught me to be very loving and very open, but very, very safe. She said, ‘Don’t judge anyone, but don’t trust everyone’.”

Lady Gaga on Good Morning America

Taking care of some media duties, Lady Gaga was spotted at “Good Morning America” studios this morning (February 17).
The “Born This Way” songstress looked a bit scary as she flashed her monster claw while sporting a massive white hat and peculiar shades.
During her sitdown (see videos below), the chart-topping singer touched on a number of topics including HIV/AIDS awareness, Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell and the Grammys.
As for the past weekend’s musical showcase, Gaga took home three trophies and performed her new single during the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards ceremony.
Of Gaga’s attire at the gig, Justin Bieber said, “I don’t know… People say it’s artistic or stuff. I’m just like, ‘You’re an egg!’”
