David Lynch has helmed a short film for Christian Dior’s current ad campaign.  Following in the footsteps of Olivier Dahan and Annie Leibovitz, the filmmaker wrote a poem about Shanghai and morphed it into this brief, bag-centric tale where Marion Cotillard visits the city for the first time and has a strange encounter with a man, a hand bag, and a blue flower.

Does Charlize Theron ever look bad? “Monster” excepted? I don’t think so. So it’s no surprise to see the Oscar winner looking drop dead gorgeous as always as she traveled in style with her Dior Gaucho handbag. The purse hasn’t been seen that much since its “it bag” heyday a few years back, but we all know Theron is loyal to the Dior brand that she represents.

Front-row seats at Dior’s Paris show? Sigh – it’s a hard-knock life, eh, Rihanna? The stylish singer opted for a chic black frock for the catwalk, along with red-orange lipstick and a divine Dior crocodile handbag. And check out those gloves – fuh-ierce.

Ooh, I’ve got goosebumps! Samantha, Miranda, Carrie, and Charlotte reunited for the “Sex and the City” film sequel in New York City, all looking dressed to kill in designer duds. And what’s that in Kristen Davis’s clutches? A hot pink Dior purse to match her cute pink dress. Just a little taste of what we can expect when the film hits screens. In the meantime, can anyone ID Kim Cattrall’s snakeskin clutch? And which gal do you think looks best?

Now that’s what I call a bad case of hat hair. Beyonce’s new wavy, mushroomy hairstyle may have been a major hair don’t, but her purple Dior Samourai 1947 woven handbag is a definite DO. The upscale purse some Sasha Fierce-ness to Beyonce’s Katy Perry-esque polka-dot playsuit, though I’d love to see her pair that gorgeous bag with something a bit more formal. Either way, the look is a winner…from the neck down, at least.

It’s been a rough month for Mischa Barton, who’s just emerged from a stint in the hospital. Considering all she’s been through, Mischa looks pretty good, walking her dog in a fringed white vest (how very rock and roll) paired with a chic black Dior handbag. It’s an odd combo, but the bag is pretty amazing. What do you think?

Somebody hand me my sunglasses. For Dior’s Fall ‘09 haute couture show in Paris, designer John Galliano turned up the color, and I for one loved every second of it. Bubblegum pink, foxy fuchsia, lemon and lime, scarlet red, intense orange, and posh purple frocks, suits, and voluminous blouses mingled with wild animal prints and ’50s-style underpinnings. There was a heavy dose of old-school glamor (very Audrey Hepburn in “Charade”), though not without a touch of whimsy, courtesy of extravagant feathered hats and a pale pink bow headpiece that makes Madonna’s Louis Vuitton bunny ears look low-key. And the handbags? Think classic and ladylike – chic framed bags in black croc and cream snakeskin. Please sir, can I have some more?
