Lindsay Lohan is reportedly preparing a lawsuit against jeweler Kamofie & Company for using her image to profit without permission. The company sold CCTV footage of her in the store on the day she is accused of stealing a $2,500 necklace.

The video was sold for at least $40,000 and will be aired tonight on Entertainment Tonight.

A representative for the jeweler has, however, said they felt it was “necessary” to release the video.

A statement to website TMZ read: “We hope that everyone understands that this is beyond our control, the flood of the requests to see this video were simply too overwhelming.  It was truly necessary to put it out.”

Meanwhile it has been claimed Lindsay — who is still on probation after completing a court ordered rehab stint in January — will not accept a plea bargain for a six month jail term, offered by the District Attorney when she returns to court to face judge Keith Schwartz on Thursday.

This is partly because her attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, thinks they have a strong chance of getting her sentence reduced to between 30 and 45 days in light of the video being leaked.

If Lindsay doesn’t take the plea deal her case will proceed to trial and be referred to Judge Stephanie Sautner, who has a reputation for being firm but fair.

A source told website Radaronline.com: “Judge Sautner doesn’t care if you are a celebrity or not, she is fair, but make no mistake, with repeat offenders, she shows no mercy.”

The 24-year-old singer has previously admitted to taking cocaine and says she still worries about the extent of her narcotic use when she was trying to launch her music career.

She told Neil Strauss in his new book Everyone Loves You When You Are Dead: “Sometimes it freaks me out – or I should say it petrifies me – when I think about laying in my apartment in New York with bed bugs and roaches on the floor and mirrors with cocaine everywhere, and no will or interest in doing anything but making music and getting high.

“I’ve had such obstacles with drugs and rejection and people not believing in me. It’s been a very long and continuous road that I love, but it’s hard to just chalk it up to myself. I have to believe there’s something greater than myself.”

The author also revealed the “Born this Way” hitmaker confided in him that she had previously suffered a “traumatic experience” but wouldn’t give details as she doesn’t want her fans to be upset.

He told RadarOnline.com: “I asked her if she’d been through a traumatic experience when she was younger and she said yes, that it was when she was in New York and it was so terrible that she’d blocked it out.

“She said it was so horrible that she didn’t want it in her younger fans’ heads. I think she felt that if she opened up about herself, then it would define her and that’s all anyone would ask about.”

However, Gaga did hint at her problems, but insisted she had brought them all on herself.

She said: “I didn’t have a bad childhood. All of the things I went through were on my own quest for an artistic journey to f**k myself up like Warhol and Bowie and Mick, and just go for it.

“All of the trauma I caused to myself. Or it was caused by people that I met when being outrageous and irresponsible.”

Charlie Sheen has been fired from the hit CBS sitcom Two and a Half Men following a string of interviews where Sheen has continued to badmouth the show’s producer, Chuck Lorre. Warner Bros. released a statement confirming the news Monday.

The actor reacted by saying it was “good news.” He told website TMZ.com: “This is very good news. They continue to be in breach, like so many whales. It is a big day of gladness at the Sober Valley Lodge because now I can take all of the bazillions, never have to look at whatshisc–k again and I never have to put on those silly shirts for as long as this warlock exists in the terrestrial dimension.”

The sitcom had already been placed on indefinite hiatus partway through filming its eighth season in February because of Charlie’s behavior, which included being hospitalized in January.

The 45-year-old — who became the highest paid TV star ever, commanding almost $2 million per episode — was upset with this decision and has since launched a number of bizarre rants against the show’s producers, in particular creator Chuck Lorre, saying he had no right to question what he does outside of working hours.

He said: “They sent out a memo to the security team on the show saying if this guy shows up for work, don’t let him in. I don’t understand what I did wrong except live a life you’re all jealous of. I don’t have burnout in my gearbox, I just have go and I’m ready to go. I’m insulted and I’m confused.

“You guys want to go to war, let’s go to war. When I call winner, game over, I hope you all have your apologies ready, I hope you’re writing them now.”

A representative for Warner said no decision has been made as to whether the show will return without Charlie.

Charlie Sheen has revealed plans to join pal Sean Penn on a trip to Haiti, which was devastated by two earthquakes in January 2010, to help Sean who has been undertaking charity work in Haiti since the disaster.

Charlie told Access Hollywood Live: “We’re going to do a couple things first and then it looks like we’re heading down [to Haiti]. And I’m excited as hell because, you know, if I can bring the attention of the world down there, then clearly this tsunami keeps cresting.”

In a recent interview with GQ magazine Sean defended his friend, revealing he believes Charlie simply wants the world to “lighten” up.

He said: “When you divorce the moral judgments, which I prefer to do, I see a guy who has a clearer view of the nature of the world around him than is sometimes comfortable to have. Those are the sort of people who have a tendency to find altered states. But he’s a very ironic character. He’s got pretension in the crosshairs of his wit. I think to a large degree he’s saying, ‘Guys, we’re only going to be here once, so lighten the f–k up.’”

Christina Aguilera and her boyfriend were arrested in the wee hours of this morning (3/1/11) reports TMZ. The singer was taken into custody in West Hollywood at 2:45am along with her beau Matt Rutler, who was arrested for driving under the influence.

The 30-year-old pop star was taken to the West Hollywood Sheriff’s substation and handed the charge. TMZ reports Aguilera appeared to be “extremely intoxicated” and was “unable to take care of herself”.

Matthew, 25, was taken to the same substation and was charged with the misdemeanour offense and had his bail set at $30,000 by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Reports indicate that if he had not been driving and stopped by police then Christina would have not been arrested. A law enforcement source said: “If the driver had not been arrested for DUI, Christina would have never been in trouble.”

A news conference about the events this morning indicates that Christina will not be prosecuted for the offense, and was cooperative with authorities.

Lindsay Lohan completed a court-ordered 90-day rehab stint last month, but she was warned in court yesterday that she’ll be sent to prison if she accepts a plea bargain related to a theft charge.

A source told website PopEater: “I’m not sure if she can survive this. She is so terrified and frightened that we all fear her addictions will kick in again to help her numb the fear.”

The actress is accused of stealing a necklace worth $2,500 from upmarket Californian boutique Kamofie & Company.

Though Lindsay has repeatedly denied the allegation — insisting the item was loaned to her in exchange for publicity — she has been offered a plea bargain deal, in which she is believed to be expected to serve just eight months in jail in exchange for pleading guilty.

The 24-year-old actress must decide whether to accept the deal or plead not guilty and take the case to trial by the time of her next hearing, which has been set for March 10.

Lindsay, who is free on $40,000 bail, was also warned by Judge Schwartz if she pleads guilty or no contest to the charge then he could rule that she is in violation of her earlier DUI order.

Lindsay’s parents Dina and Michael supported their daughter at her hearing yesterday, despite a restraining order in place banning the showbiz patriarch from going near his ex-wife.

Michael told RadarOnline.com: “We just want to be there for her, but to be there with Dina and the kids, to show our support as a family.

“The restraining order is in effect, it’s been seven years and in effect for five more months, but it doesn’t matter.

“At a time like this when the public needs to see and the court needs to see her family come together for her. Because that’s one of her biggest problems, she has a broken heart and she filled that crack in her broken heart that came from our divorce with all the wrong things.

“Parents have to put their differences aside for their children.”

Nicki Minaj reportedly caused a fuss at the National Basketball Players Association Gala in Los Angeles on Saturday, after insisting photographers travel to her backstage area at the JW Marriott hotel because she didn’t want to take the escalator.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: “There was a little drama… She had time before she was due to go onstage, but she couldn’t be persuaded.

“But the photographers and crews were desperate for her picture, so they all had to come upstairs and hustle backstage to get the shot.

“Nicki was polite and posed up.”

It is not known if Nicki didn’t want to travel on the moving stairway because of a phobia or because of what she was wearing. If she does have a fear of escalators, Nicki would not be the only star to have an unusual phobia.

Actor Johnny Depp suffers from clourophobia, a fear of clowns, while Billy Bob Thornton has a phobia of antique furniture and Nicole Kidman has admitted to an irrational fear of butterflies.

At the Gala on Saturday, Nicki’s friend Rihanna performed, while other A-list stars in attendance included Beyonce and her husband, Jay-Z, Justin Bieber, P. Diddy, Stevie Wonder, Bruno Mars, Ne-Yo, Gene Simmons and Steven Tyler.

Lady Gaga has a special way of keeping in shape: whiskey! She’s a big fan of the alcoholic beverage because she thinks it helps her creativity but still maintains her toned figure, because she hits the gym even if she’s suffering from the after-effects of too much alcohol.

She told Sirius XM radio: “I am on the drunk diet. I live my life as I want to, creatively. I like to drink whiskey and stuff while I am working. But the deal is I’ve got to work out every day, and I work out hung over if I am hung over. And it’s about the cross-training and keeping yourself inspired. I have to say, I do a ton of yoga.”

Gaga has previously caused controversy with her extreme dieting methods.

The 24-year-old singer’s former tour manager, David Ciemny, claimed last year she would binge on junk food such as cakes and sweets, then not eat for weeks to fit into her costumes — once losing 20 pounds between fittings for one of her outfits.

Describing her condition, David said: “When I say she was sick, I mean physically and mentally.”

Talent scout Wendy Starland added: “The pressure on her to lose weight was very high.”

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon’s twins haven’t been born yet, but the couple is already splurging on the little ones. Apparently they’ve turned a whole wing of their home into a fully equipped nursery with all the bells and whistles you can imagine.

A source said: “Mariah and Nick have converted a whole wing of their Beverly Hills house into a luxury nursery. Mariah wanted 18-carat gold trim with ivory walls, soft furnishings and walk-in wardrobes full of Petit Tresor designer clothes. There’s a top-of-the-range sound system and they’ll each have diamond-encrusted iPods and a flatscreen TV that comes down from the ceiling.”

Among the items the couple have splashed out on for their son and daughter are Chelsea sleigh cribs costing $2,200 each and a Clara changing table, which has a price tag of $2800, while the nursery will also be furnished with $2,270 Glam Glider chairs for Mariah and Nick – and a $1 million sofa.

The source added to Now magazine: “Mariah and her designer Kenneth Bordewick are overseeing every detail. There’s a $1 million red-crushed velvet, 24-carat gold and onyx sofa used for Michael Jackson’s shows. It’s very ‘Alice in Wonderland’ with swags on the back. It might seem over the top, but Mariah has waited a long time for her baby dreams to come true and she says the twins will be the most spoilt kids on the planet.”
